The manufacturer of an innovative and successful niche geosynthetic product range commissioned Downley Consultants to review the nature and opportunities for its products in clean water management, and in particular in lining of irrigation canals. This investigation covered all regions of the world and focused on customer needs, currently used technologies, and technical and environmental drivers for reduction of water loss in irrigation. The project identified attractive regions for market entry based on unmet needs and competitive opportunity. A supporting market analysis provided recommendations on which markets to enter first and those to enter at a later stage based on success in the first group.
RESULT: The Client entered the recommended initial markets successfully and plans to enter others in a controlled manner to make best use of its resources.
